FAQ

Please take a minute to look over the most frequently asked questions our Customer Service representatives receive about ASAP's discount ticket services.

Q: Can I cancel, exchange or get a refund from my tickets?
A: Most ASAP tickets are nonrefundable, though some may be exchanged, depending on the airline. Airlines that allow exchanges or cancellations may charge a fee for the service. British Airways tickets, for example are completely nonrefundable and non-exchangeable, while all Northwest Airlines and KLM tickets can be exchanged for a penalty within 90 days of the original day of departure. The cancellation or exchange fee will be quoted by your agent at the time of purchase, but penalties are subject to airline rules and may change at any time.

Exchange: Some tickets may be changed for a penalty, usually $450, and the fare difference. A fare difference often occurs if the exchanged tickets are in different seasons or there are no seats at the same price as your original ticket. Keep in mind, however, that if you remain flexible with your plans, your ASAP agent will try to find the same fare, if possible.

Cancel: If you know you cannot travel, you must cancel your tickets with ASAP or with the airline. If you do not cancel, the airline will treat the ticket as a "no show," and the ticket looses its value and has no chance of being exchanged or refunded.
Note: If you have a paper ticket rather than an E-Ticket, you must return the ticket to ASAP before we can process any kind of refund or exchange.

Q: Can I book tickets online?
A: Though you can plan a trip online and see ticket prices, you must confirm by calling ASAP at (800) 313-7704.

Q: Can I get a ticket last minute?
A: Yes, ASAP specializes in cheap last minute airfare. We can most likely find you tickets only a few hours before a flight!

Q: How can I view my itinerary?
A: ASAP had teamed together with Galileo ViewTrip to provide the best, most detailed itinerary available. Please go to the View Itinerary page for more information.

Q: What if my name/flight/fare is incorrect on my ticket?
A: YOU MUST CONTACT OUR OFFICE WITHIN 24 HOURS OF RECEIVING YOUR CONFIRMATION if the are any discrepancies at all in the:
1. Correct spelling of name(s)
2. Flight times and airlines
3. Fare paid
After that 24 hour period is over, ASAP assumes that all information is correct and may be unable to change it.

Q: How is my ticket shipped and can I track it?
A: ASAP generally uses paperless E-Tickets that you receive through e-mail. ASAP will e-mail a confirmation for E-Tickets with an E-Ticket number, and will store E-Ticket information in the airline reservation system. For paper tickets, you can choose to ship your tickets through the US postal service, Fedex, or Fedex Express. If you choose to send your tickets by regular mail, you cannot track your ticket and ASAP is not liable for delay or lost items. If you decide to ship with Fedex, your agent will give you a tracking number which you can use to track your ticket at www.fedex.com.

Q: When will I receive my ticket?
A: E-Ticket confirmation will be e-mailed to you after ASAP has ensured that the ticket has been issued. Paper tickets will be received in a minimum of three business days, though it is more likely that five to fifteen business days will be required for shipping. If necessary, please check with your agent to arrange a rush delivery.

Q: When are agents available?
A: ASAP travel agents are available on the phone between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm PST. Agents are available through email almost 24 hours a day.

Q: How does ASAP offer such low fares?
A: ASAP negotiates with international and domestic airlines for volume discounts, making it possible to get you better quality tickets and bigger savings.

Q: Can I get a seat for my baby?
A: Most airlines will let you purchase a seat for an infant, but you will need to pay a child fare. Some airlines will not allow an infant on a separate seat at all. Please check with an agent.

Q: What kind of extra discounts can I get for children/seniors/military/etc?
A: Infants, children discounts: Most airlines provide discounts for infants up to 24 months old, and children from 2-11 years of age. The fare for infants is usually 10% of an adult fare, while the usual fare for children is 75% of an adult fare, plus taxes and fees. However, some discounted tickets have no additional reductions for children or infants. Please check with us to confirm any discount information.

Senior/Military discounts: We do not have additional discounts for seniors, primarily because our tickets are already deeply discounted. ASAP special consolidated fares are actually cheaper than most regular published fares with senior discounts.

Q: Do I collect my bags at my final destination?
A: In most cases, you will be able to collect your bags at your final destination. However, much depends on the laws and regulations of the country you are in. For example, when traveling to Europe and stopping over in Schengen Zone countries (these countries have no internal border checkpoints and controls), you will enter passport control when first in the Schengen zone, then collect luggage and enter customs control at your final destination.

Q: I don't know when I'm coming home. Can I buy an open-ended ticket?
A: Our ability to find open-ended tickets depends on the airline and destination as well how much time you need. For example, only a few Asian airlines allow open-ended tickets. Some airlines do not allow any open tickets at all. However, you can often change the return flight for a penalty. Please consult an agent about penalties and the maximum time your ticket must be valid for.

A ticket always has limited validity. It can be open for one month, three months, six months, or a maximum of 12 months. The most inexpensive tickets have limited time validity. Some tickets are non-exchangeable, so always check with an agent about exchange options. ASAP agents always try to find the lowest fare for each passenger; however, deeply discounted tickets often have highly restrictive options.

To schedule a return trip with an open-ended ticket, you must contact the airline at your destination and schedule a flight within the validity time of your ticket.

Q: Can I buy a one-way ticket?
A: ASAP does have specially negotiated one way deals. Please check with an agent.
